Blast rocks Beirut suburb; at least 1 killed

(CNN) -- A number of people were wounded and at least one person was killed in an explosion in a suburb southeast of Beirut on Monday, state media reported.

Lebanon's state-run NNA news agency said the blast targeted a transportation hub in Choueifat, Lebanon.

A bomber blew himself up inside a passenger van, NNA reported. It was unclear whether the bomber was killed.

The Hezbollah-owned Al-Manar television aired still images from the scene showing burned-out vehicles, firefighters dragging hoses and bystanders near the scene.
